WHY ALPACA SOCKS?
POLKU ALPACA SOCK
Our best selling sock Polku is your all-season companion – an ultra-versatile wool sock that thrives from city streets to forest trails.
Crafted with a technical blend of alpaca fiber and performance yarns, this lightweight crew sock stays breathable, moisture-wicking, and blister-free through hikes, commutes, or long days on your feet. Unlike typical wool socks, alpaca socks naturally regulate temperature: warm in the cold, cool in the heat.
With no cushioning or excess bulk, the Polku Sock fits perfectly in boots, sneakers, or even dress shoes. It’s itch-free, odour-resistant, and built for durability – making it your go-to outdoor sock, all year round.
Whether you're trail running, bike commuting, or just chasing a better everyday – these are socks with wool, reimagined.
Absorbs only about 10% of its weight in moisture, making it incredibly fast-drying. Wicks sweat away from your skin to prevent chafing and that sticky feeling. And even when soaked, alpaca keeps insulating – thanks to its natural air pockets.
Absorbs only ~10% moisture – dries fast
Wicks away sweat – no chafing, no clammy feel
Keeps warming even when wet
Naturally self-cleaning – most days, a breeze is all it needs. The keratin core of the alpaca fiber resists bacteria and keeps your socks fresh without frequent washing. When in doubt, use the good old nose test – and there’s no shame in giving them a spin in the washing machine every now and then.
Low maintenance – just air them out
Keratin fiber core kills bacteria
Stays fresh for days

Frequently asked questions
Will my alpaca socks shrink when washed?
Not if you treat them right. Our alpaca socks are not pre-washed, so they may shrink slightly if washed incorrectly. We recommend washing them on a gentle wool cycle at 30 °C and letting them air dry flat.
NO tumble drying or high spin cycles, which can stress the fibers. If you wash them at 40 °C with regular laundry (which we don’t recommend), expect about one full EU size of shrinkage.
Is alpaca better than merino wool?
In nearly every core function of wool, alpaca outperforms merino. It contains more microscopic air pockets within each fiber, which improves insulation without added weight. Compared to merino, alpaca wicks moisture more efficiently and absorbs significantly less water, meaning it dries faster and keeps you feeling dry during activity. It also naturally resists odours and is hypoallergenic – alpaca contains no lanolin, so it’s safe for those with wool sensitivity or allergies.
And because alpacas tread lightly – both literally and ecologically – their fiber is among the most sustainable on the planet: low water use, low impact grazing, and no harsh chemical treatments.
Unlike merino sheep, which are farm animals, alpacas are native to their environment and live in balance with the Andean ecosystem.

Can I return alpaca socks if they don’t feel right after wearing them?
Yes. We want you to love your alpaca socks – and we know the perfect fit takes wearing them. That’s why we accept returns even if you’ve tested them, as long as they’re still in good condition. Alpaca socks naturally mold to your feet, but if something feels off, don’t worry. You’ll find return instructions and full policy here.
No stress – just comfort.
My size is between two options – which one should I choose?
Go with the smaller size. Alpaca socks naturally mold to your feet over time, giving you a snug and secure fit. If the sock is too large, the heel may sit loose or bunch up – and that’s no good whether you’re walking, working, or exploring outdoors.
We recommend measuring your foot length and comparing it with our size chart to find the best fit. A well-fitted sock performs better, lasts longer, and simply feels right.

"100+ km of hiking and daily wear all summer – and these socks held up like champs. One pair, a few gentle hand washes, and fresh as ever. Solid 5/5!"

"First hike in ages with zero blisters – and I’ve got super sensitive feet. Wore the same pair all week, just aired them out. That’s how good they were. Ended up ordering 10 more after the trip!"

"Best socks I’ve found – by far!I’ve been wearing only merino wool since 2016, but these blow every merino pair out of the water. Just had to order more!"

"Best. Socks. Ever. Wore the same pair for nearly three weeks on a hiking trip – just to see if your ad was for real. It was."

"Absolutely fantastic socks for different shoes and different sports, I need to get more of these. Very easy to care for and really don't smell of sweat."
Erinomaiset sukat.
Olen nyt käyttänyt sukkia pari viikkoa ja ne ovat todella hyvät - tykkään
Tällä hetkelläkin on jalassani alpakkasukat. Kärsin kylmistä jaloistani ja nämä sukat lämmittää kivasti tossuissa ja muissa jalkineissa ja mahtuvat hyvin. Sattumalta lempivärejänikin vielä niissä joten sopivat vaatteisiini.
Got some cushioned socks (black yellow) and hoodie (fitting yellow) for a big trail run holidays, every gram counts, and it needs to provide warmth, keep functioning when wet, and not start to smell (easily). On top of it must be light too.
They performed superb. Also bought and tested some T-shirts and finger gloves and mittens now. the shirts were tested thoroughly and even a week of activities with heavy sweating does not result in any nasty odor from the garments, and when wet keep providing warmth. so no chilling effects unlike synthetic garments.
Teemu also provides for fast and excellent advise on size choices if in doubt!
Ei muuta sukkia oo ollut jalassa sen jälkeen kun mä nää sain
Todella hyvät sukat
