What does Pre-sale mean?
A pre-sale labeling means you're ordering gear before it's officially in stock. You're first in line – your item gets made or reserved specifically for you. This helps us reduce overproduction and offer limited runs of our best pieces. Delivery takes a little longer, but it's worth the wait. Each pres-sale product page includes an estimated shipping date, so you’ll know when to expect your gear.
ALPACA Vs. MERINO
In nearly every core function of wool, alpaca out performs merino. It contains more microscopic air pockets within each fiber, which improves insulation without added weight. Compared to merino, alpaca wicks moisture more efficiently and absorbs significantly less water, meaning it dries faster and keeps you feeling dry during activity. It also naturally resists odours and is hypoallergenic – alpaca contains no lanolin, so it’s safe for those with wool sensitivity or allergies.
And because alpacas tread lightly – both literally and ecologically – their fiber is among the most sustainable on the planet: low water use, low impact grazing, and no harsh chemical treatments.
Unlike merino sheep, which are farm animals, alpacas are native to their environment and live in balance with the Andean ecosystem.
How to wash alpaca clothing
You rarely need to. Alpaca naturally resists odours, so just air it out between wears. Machine wash only when truly needed – like after a spill or muddy trail.
When you do: wash on a gentle wool cycle at 30 °C with a wool detergent. Lay flat to air dry. Skip the tumble dryer and high spin – alpaca prefers a softer touch.
